Lee Johnson
Lee enjoys painting as much as making
jewelry.  For 27 years, lee has
manufactured sterling/bronze/copper
jewelry pieces, 14 hours/day, six days a
week.  She recently has taken up a brush
and became stricken with portraits of both
animals and people.  Oil has fascinated her
to the point that she might consider
painting replacing jewelry.   
She oil paints on her deck at home during
the week.  Bill, her husband,  built a roof
over the deck, so that she could paint
outdoors, watching birds at the feeders and
just enjoying the scenery around their
cottage, overlooking Owl Mountain and
Possum Holler'.
However today, painting has taken a back
seat to her new jewelry creation...she melts
old sterling pieces and fuses sterling pieces
into necklaces, earrings, bracelets and pins
with stones.  This is really creativity and
recycling at its best.  Plus, each is truly
original because it is challenging to control
how the sterling flows under the hot torch.  
It is also really FUN!
