Home portraits and buildings are a lot of fun. Sometimes, I change the background to please the customer; for example, highlighting mountains or trees to enhance the painting.
Ron and Linda Barden completely "built" and decorated their home after the wallboard was installed. It is magnificent in every minute detail. I was fortunate to paint their home, nestled in the mountains of Rabun Gap, Georgia.
Judy Whitaker commissioned this historical cottage painting. The cottage is located on a side road off Hwy 246, heading north to Highlands, on her property. I loved doing it because the cottage meant so much to her.
This was one of my first commission paintings. I was very pleased and surprised with the outcome.
Truly, the challenge in this painting was Tony's truck, which is my first truck. It shows, also. Harry's Place is now the Bull Dog Tavern. It wasn't up in our gallery long when a good customer bought it because her husband's name is Harry. (Reason enough, as far as I am concerned.)
